looks delicious! i wish apartment living was more conducive to growing anything. . . now i can only manage pygmy morning glories. . . anywhoo, i know where to go for tips as i plan my brother’s garden, which will include a herb garden and vegetable patch! well grown, friend!
Knittymama: Green tomatoes are yummy, too–coated with cornmeal and pan fried, then served in a sandwich with provolone and mayonnaise. I was half tempted to fry up some of these, but since we have just the one tomato plant I decided to wait.
- Pixie: Tomato-eating boxers? That’s a new one. Years ago we had a very large garden, and although we were happy to share our bounty with the neighborhood wildlife, I found the squirrels particularly annoying. They liked to take one bite out of a tomato, drop it, and then take one bite from a different tomato. Grrrr.
- Regg: You guess correctly! :) How have you been?
- JD: Do you have a little balcony where you could grow some stuff in pots? Or maybe a sunny doorway where you could hang one of those upside-down tomato gardens? I hear they work quite well!
- Kelli: You are so right! Few things are as yummy as in-season tomatoes!
- Imperatrix: Yes, and they were delicious.
We are having such a hard time waiting for ours! Everyday I hear, “Mama, why are they still green!!???”
A few days ago we had some almost ready tomatoes. Last night we went to pick them and they were GONE!
And there were mysterious little boxer dog foot prints in the garden….
Hey!
Is that tomato??? lovely~!

I imagine they’re eaten by now.
See, it was worth the wait, yes?
