The DB cover pattern was the only one that caught my eye, too, except perhaps a top-only version of the fair isle dress. I bought the issue and it turns out a few places are offering free patterns as a tribute to Vogue. I like the “Tee Party” downloadable at http://www.tahkistacycharles.com/vkf07; and the over-the-knee-highs available from louet. I also marked about five sweater patterns (11, 13, 34, 40 and 44) which are my style. But the weather in these parts and my lack of commitment always conspire against my sweater-knitting dreams…

Too bad it can't be Talk Like a Pirate Day every day! :) - SP11: Finish up those UFOs so you can start some pirate knitting for next year! - JD: When I decide I'm ready for the They Might Be Pirates hat, I'm definitely turning to you for mentorship on that project! I did see the free Vogue Knitting patterns and, well, aside from the Debbie Bliss one, none of them were anything I'd actually want to wear, much less knit. Vogue patterns just leave me feeling "meh." Have you found any in particular that you like?

Fun! I did a “TMB Pirates” hat for Knitting Olympics, it was my first fair isle and totally manageable! My tension wasn’t the best, but I would knit it again, and highly recommend it! P.S. Speaking of free patterns (one of your previous posts) did you see the free ones on Vogue Knitting for the 25th? Checkity-check! And happy knitting!
