Imperatrix: I never heard about this until I met my husband, who’d learned it from his Dutch father. Why rabbits? I have no idea. Why the first of the month? No clue. These unanswered questions don’t bother me though–especially when I remember to say it!
- Katie: Um…5:30 in the morning? Ouch.
- SP11: Steel-cut oats–yum! I don’t own a crock pot, so I do the overnight soak method (boil water, throw in the oats, turn off the heat and cover, finish cooking in five minutes in the morning). Hmmm. Now I’m thinking about starting some oats for tomorrow’s breakfast…
I had a friend in high school who introduced us to this idea.
We all thought it was … unclear. Why rabbits? Why three times? Why on the first of the month?
Too many questions, not enough answers.
Yikes! I knew there was something I forgot to do this morning. I was up early enough though. Buttons was awake at 5:30.
Gee, and I jumped out of bed because there were steel-cut oats in the Crock-pot! Oh well.

Yum! Trixie and I have steel cut oats for breakfast most mornings. We’ve even gotten the Consort to join in.
