I bet you’ve never seen a panda like this before
It’s way past my bedtime, but I’m staying up late tonight to try to register Sylvia for a swim class at our local YMCA. A full membership is surprisingly expensive for an organization that claims to be community minded, so Sylvia has a “program membership.” It costs nothing, but it means we pay a lot more for classes (something like double the usual rate—though we still come out ahead since we aren’t paying a monthly membership fee) and we don’t get to sign up for classes until a week after registration opens up to full members.
Registration opened last Monday, and of the three classes that fit our schedule, two are full and one has one spot left in it. Since registration for program members opens up tomorrow—and since tomorrow is technically just a few minutes away—I’m hopeful that the online registration system will recognize “Monday” shortly and let me sign up for a class so I can go to bed. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll be going over to the YMCA when they open up at 5:15 and hoping like hell that no one has taken that last spot.*
So thank goodness for the Internet, when it’s late and you’re tired but you need to stay awake for just a little while (not a caffeine-worthy amount of time). Where else can you find the amazing Flickr Panda. It vomits a rainbow filled with photos. Seriously. Take a look.
Clicking on a photo will take you to its Flickr page. The photos seem to be randomly drawn from Flickr. I wonder if any of mine ever appear there? Hmmmm.

*Why am I going to all this trouble? Sylvia just wrapped up a session of swim classes there, and after weeks of desperately clinging to her dad (it’s a parent-child class) in the pool, last week—in the final class of the session—she had a major breakthrough and suddenly started having fun and happily trying out the different activities the teacher had shown her. So we don’t want to lose this momentum.

I hope you got her registered last night so you didn’t have to get up this morning!
… Did you make it?
OMG. Flickr Panda. How did I not know about it, when I Flickr all the time? Thank you for yet another great Web link.
