Life update

Watching: Groundhog Day. Yes, I watched this on February 2.

Knitting: Wavy scarf from Knitty.

Reading: Mr. Darcy’s Diary, by Amanda Grange. This is total fluff, but entertaining. I think Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance - Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem! will be an appropriate follow-up read.

Growing: Paperwhites (forced in Mason jars on the kitchen counter).

Eating: Pureed broccoli soup with garlic, ginger, and white miso.

Shoveling: Lots of snow. But I actually enjoy shoveling snow, so I don’t mind.

Now With Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem?! That sounds serious!

I forced some paperwhites during December. It’s so fun to watch them take off. How far along are they?

I just finished _Mr. Darcy’s Diary_. It is fluff, but it was just the distraction I needed at the time. I felt the need to supplement it by watching Colin Firth in the BBC/A&E “Pride and Prejudice.”

I can’t wait to get my hands on P&P&Z.

I’m always amazed at all of the P&P spin-offs.

I read P&P because of Reading Lolita in Tehran. Now I want to read Persuasion because of the movie Jane Austen Book Club.

@Shannah: Starting in November or so, I keep a succession of paperwhites growing on the counter. Right now, I have two jars going: one set of bulbs is spent, and the other is about eight inches tall.

@Arianna: Sylvia shares your dorkiness, then. She loves to help us shovel snow. I haven’t been able to find a kid-sized snow shovel anywhere, though, so she has to make do with her garden shovel.
