Yeah…I guess I just never saw the point (my dad sent me a link to this a while ago). But, I prefer my knitting to be functional. And portable(ish). This just seemed like a gimmick to me, because “knitting is so popular right now!” It’s just silly. Kind of neat to watch, but silly nonetheless. Who is funding this?!?

@Imperatrix: I don’t have an objection to “art” knitting, but I don’t think scale alone makes something into an art piece. As for dropping a stitch on this thing…*shudder* If I were the artist and that happened, I’d just called it a “design element.” :)

I would imagine it’s more “art” than functional knitting. It would make a great wall hanging (but the dust it would collect, oy vey!)
