This has been a pretty rough winter. Nine snow days so far (including one six-day weekend in January and one five-day weekend in February), and it looks like we’ll be getting another one tomorrow.

A few weeks ago we had about 18″ of snow over a couple of days. It’s been slow to disappear—we still have about 3″ on the ground, though at least I can (finally!) see decent-sized patches of grass. We’re expecting 6-10″ tomorrow. Goodbye again, lawn!

Hi Marsha, How are you guys doing after that last blast of snow to the northeast? This year Chelsea got a new job – driving the snow plows in Illinois! What an initiation!

Hey there, Pat! As it turns out, that predicted snowfall was a non-event here—fewer than 2″ (not enough to cancel school, thank goodness!). Chelsea’s new job sounds terrific! After just one season, I’m sure she’s an expert at it now, with all the practice she got.

In Illinois, they’ve had a lot more snow and yes, Chelsea’s had lots of practice. We didn’t get much in that last snow either. I’m glad you guys are OK. This is a nice photo that you posted. Is it close to where you live?

Yes! It’s in our neighborhood, just a couple of streets over from where live. I took that picture on Valentine’s Day (which turned out to be a snow day). Sylvia and I went for a walk to hand out Valentines to her friends who live in the neighborhood. :)
