Knitters’ Coffeeswap Three questionnaire
1. Whole bean or ground? Whole bean!
2. Fully-loaded or decaf? Fully loaded!
3. Regular or flavored? Regular only, please. On the rare occasions when I do wish to add a flavor to my coffee, I use a syrup (almost always caramel, with occasional forays into the Land of Vanilla).
4. How do you drink your coffee? As regular coffee, with sugar and half-and-half or milk. (By “regular” I mean “generally not as espresso or a latte or anything else.”)
5. Favorite coffee ever? At home, I drink Porto Rico’s Mocha and Java almost exclusively. I used to order Peet’s Arabian Mocha Java for years, but switched when my brother moved to an apartment around the corner from Porto Rico and I discovered their great coffee–and great prices. Plus when he comes to visit me, he brings me as many pounds of coffee beans as he’s willing to lug onto the train in his backpack. :)
6. Are you fussy about your coffee or will any old bean do? I’m not particularly fussy about coffee. I don’t care how expensive a coffee is, but I very much prefer stuff that is fresh, assertive, and not sour or burnt. Most Starbucks coffee varieties don’t do much for me, whereas a cup of Dunkin’ Donuts with lots of cream and sugar can be delightful. :)
7. Favorite treats to have with your coffee? Chocolate. Cookies. Cake. Donuts. Muffins. Croissants. Pretty much anything with sugar or carbohydrates (or both!).
8. Anything else about your coffee preferences? Nothing I can think of right now!
9. Yarn/fiber you love? I love working with pretty much any natural fibers (e.g., wool, cotton, linen, bamboo, silk, soy).
10. Yarn/fiber you hate? If I were stuck on a desert island with nothing but acrylic in neon or pastel colors…well…I’d probably stop knitting. Yeah, I hate it that much.
11. What’s on your needles? I just started a tomten jacket for my daughter. I’m also working on a vest for myself (not sure I’m liking how it’s turning out, though, so it may be frogged soon) and socks for my husband.
12. Favorite colors? Muted earth tones are my favorites. Believe it or not, my favorite color is brown. I’m also keen on dark greens as well as purples and medium-dark blues.
13. Allergies? No animal allergies, but I am very sensitive to smoke. Also, I’m a vegetarian (of the eggs-and-dairy-okay variety), which means Altoids, gummi candies, and anything else that contains gelatin are off limits for me.
14. Anything you really love, really don’t like, or just need to get off your chest?
–I love trees!
–I am militantly anti-olive. Also can’t stand pickles and mustard.
