Design your own amigurumi

I’ve not yet been bitten by the knitted amigurumi bug, but those of you who have might enjoy taking a look at this online amigurumi pattern generator.

    Interestingly, the wikipedia entry for amigurumi notes, “Amigurumi have no practical use; they are created and collected for aesthetic reasons. The pervading aesthetic of amigurumi is cuteness.”

    @Rob: I appreciate the appeal of items knit for aesthetics, but I just don’t have time for them. There are too many sweaters/mittens/hats/etc. on my “to knit” list for me to spent time knitting up fake food (yes, there are people who do that) and amigurumi. The latter DO have a massive cuteness factor in their favor, though…
